A beautiful home recently painted using low voc Benjamin Moore paint
There have been many technical/chemical changes to paint in the last five years. Most of us know that lead paint was finally banned in 1977 but other harmful chemicals remained in paint. Now most paints no longer contains solvents, mercury, ammonia, ethylene glycol and other harmful VOC (volatile organic compounds). The new generation of "green" paints still provide a very durable finish with more color choices than before but have eliminated many of the unpleasant odors. New hybrid paints for woodwork/trim blend acrylic and alkyd resins which give a oil base type finish, have very low odor and clean up with soap and water. Now is a great time to change interior colors with all these new available paint products Thanks, David Humphrey

AuthorThese walls were painted with a matt finish which is a very popular interior finish now. The paint contains tiny ceramic beads that make the low sheen finish washable. We also use many low or no voc (volatile organic compounds) products which eliminate solvents and strong smells. Many other "green products" are now available for interior use. ArchivesCategories |
